Welcome to Atlanta, Ga., where we’re visiting one of the 1,600 Chili’s restaurants around North America. The casual dining restaurant is a staple for many families, serving delicious food in a welcoming atmosphere.
Something you may not know is that Chili’s joined the Veteran Jobs Mission in April 2013, which supports U.S. military veterans, transitioning military members, and military spouses.
Nowadays, Chili’s hires anywhere from 275 to 350 veterans each quarter to lead and work in their restaurants. The company continues to focus on new methods to attract, identify, and retain strong talent transitioning out of the military and into civilian life. In addition to the coalition, the company has built partnerships with veteran support organizations and several military bases.
Chili’s also established an internal check-in process with their military hires to better understand how they can attract future military to the ChiliHead family. They value veterans’ leadership experience, helping military personnel transfer their skills from real-world situations into successful restaurant careers.
In addition, Chili’s offers the Certified Shift Leader program (CSL), which was created to fast track ChiliHeads who show potential towards a career path of running a Chili’s restaurant.
