The Makeover team arrives at the Ewings’ home in Miami Gardens, Florida, ready to do a full renovation for a deserving military family.

As a Gold Star family, the Ewings have sacrificed more for their country than most. Hilda and Arthur Ewing’s eldest son, Army Pfc. Jeremy Ricardo Ewing, 22, paid the ultimate price when he was one of eight soldiers killed in a car bomb attack as his unit was doing a dismounted improvised-explosive device-sweep in Baghdad on April 29, 2004. Tragically, Jeremy had been scheduled to come home from Iraq two weeks earlier, but his tour of duty was extended at the last minute.

As for our generous partners, The Home Depot is back — their tool and truck rental departments are helping bring all the necessary tools to get the job done. Nixplay is the leading WiFi digital frame provider— you can download an application on your phone and send a send a picture instantly to your loved ones. The Ewings will now stay connected with family in Germany without having to worry about cluttering their home with so many frames.

Interior designer Jennifer Bertrand has selected a fantastic color and texture for cabinets, back splash and countertops; thanks to The Home Depot kitchen and appliances departments, the new kitchen is going to be a dream come true for Gold Star Mom Hilda Ewing. Also, watch as ADT provides peace of mind to this family that has sacrificed so much.
