Hailing from Mooresville, North Carolina, Benjamin and Melissa Mahaley's story is filled with valor and commitment. Melissa's journey into service began straight out of high school at 18 years old, when she joined the US Marine Corps as a radio operator. Meanwhile, Benjamin, inspired by his Uncle Dan's unwavering loyalty as a retired U.S. Marine Corps veteran, felt the call to serve his country and enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2005 at the age of 23.
