Veterans transitioning into civilian life know how difficult the process can be, especially those suffering from PTSD and traumatic brain injury.

That’s where K9s For Warriors comes in, a nonprofit dedicated to providing service canines to veterans. Their program is unique, and no other organization operates quite like them.

Every warrior that walks through the door is family. They provide veterans with a service canine, as well as seminars, housing, home-cooked meals, unconditional love and listening, and lifetime services, including healthcare and food for their dogs.

K9s For Warriors was able to raise more than $8.5 million in 2017, which allowed the organization to pair 114 warriors with service dogs. That’s 228 lives saved because of each person’s contribution. In addition, more than 740 supporters pledged their continued support through K9s’ Guard Dog program, which seeks to end the veteran suicide issue plaguing our country. Currently, Guard Dog donors give $22 or more per month to sustain the life-saving programs provided by K9s For Warriors.
