Military Makeover Previews: Super Bowl 58 Chiefs vs 49ers

One question you will sure be asked multiple times in the next week is who do you think will win the Super Bowl? The big game is set to take place Sunday night on February 11 in Las Vegas. Allegiant Stadium will host Super Bowl 58 this year, home to the Las Vegas Raiders.

Super Bowl 58

The Kansas City Chiefs will take on the San Francisco 49ers for the second time in four years. The last time these two teams faced off in the Super Bowl, Patrick Mahomes took down the 49ers. At the time, the team was led by quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. In this rematch, the Chiefs will have to beat a super-talented 49ers roster led by sophomore quarterback Brock Purdy.

Purdy and the 49ers are heading into the Super Bowl after a wild comeback victory against the Detroit Lions in the NFC championship game. The Kansas City Chiefs have been dazzling this playoff as well, knocking off top teams like the Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills, and Baltimore Ravens.

Mahomes understands how special that is. “You don’t take it for granted,” Mahomes said. “You never know how many you’re going to get to, or if you’re going to get to any. It truly is special just to do it with these guys after what we’ve been through all season long, guys coming together, it really is special. But I told them the jobs not done. Our job now is to prepare ourselves to play a good football team in the Super Bowl and try to get that ring.”

To put this achievement into perspective, legendary quarterbacks like Dan Marino, Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, and Steve Young only got there once. Mahomes is on his way to his fourth Super Bowl and is only 28 years old! Mahomes has been involved with local veteran organizations in Kansas City. In the past, he has helped build tiny homes for veterans with Volunteering with Veterans Community Project.
