One of the biggest traditions is spending time with your loved ones during the holiday season. But not everyone can do this every year. Some families count on the brave men and women who serve our country and sometimes they can’t come home for the holidays. But when they can, it makes it extra special.
Something that puts a smile on everyone’s face is seeing a service member surprise their loved ones when they return home. This is especially true when it is a parent surprising their children.
Military Coming Home Surprise
This Christmas, a service member who is a father to three beautiful children, got to do just that.
The three kids were taking a family photo with their mother, just like any other family would on Christmas. However, they were missing one person for their family photo – their father. According to TikTok, the children’s father is an active member of the United States Armed Forces. The family all posed for the photo as one of the kids held a stuffed toy of their father.
Little did they know, their father was present and was photo bombing in the back. After the picture, they showed the kids the photo and asked, “Is it a good photo?” The family hoped the kids would see their father in the back.
“Yes!” All the kids shouted, but they didn’t notice the surprise behind them.
Nevertheless, the family smiled and laughed together as the children didn’t pick up on the surprise. The father waited patiently for his children to notice.
“Look at the picture,” the mother said. All the children examined the photo again.
And then, the oldest daughter screamed for joy and turned to bear-hug her father. The other two siblings followed their sisters’ steps and hugged their father.
“Daddy!” One child screamed. The family all hugged one another. The children cried in joy getting to embrace their father.
It’s safe to say their Christmas was a lot better with their father present for the holiday. A special moment for their family indeed.
